Yohji Yamamoto worked with photographer Martine Barrat to publish this book focused on her boxing photographs. This publication would later lead to Yohji asking her to photograph the Y's line. 

In the forward Yohji writes "You probably are already familiar with these famous photographs introduced here. How should I approach the problems of fashion and photography? I decided to let Martine photograph Y’s fashion however she wished. For that reason, I felt it necessary to introduce Martine’s great creativity. From works of hers taken over the last ten years, I picked out those which matched my present mood (Making a selection was hard, I liked all of them).
