Go Sees - Juergen Teller
Over the span of 12 months, Juergen Teller photographed hundreds of aspiring models who came to visit him in his London studio as "Go Sees." The term "go-see" was in reference to an aspiring model and her vetting by a photographer. Teller was sent hundreds of models by agencies, and he wanted to turn this into a conceptual project. He said "I thought it was a weird idea – girls coming to see me as a man. I wanted to do it for one year and see what happened. In a way, that was my first conceptual project." The book captures hopeful young girls that came with dreams of making a career out of modelling. They came alone, in groups, sometimes accompanied by their parents, but regardless they were always shot by his studio entrance.
